A state-of-the-art information and knowledge center (telecentre), established in the Union Digital Center Union Council, aims to ensure information services at the doorstep of the grassroots people. From this center, people of rural areas get life and livelihood information and necessary services in their home environment very easily.
On November 11, 2010, Honorable Prime Minister inaugurated all the Union Digital Centers (UDCs) across the country through video conferences from the Prime Minister's Office and Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and former New Zealand Miss Helen Clark Bhola district's Char Kakrimukuri Union. About 40 lakh people are receiving information and services from these centers. Through the UISC, the public and private services are getting a very positive change in the life of the local people through easy, fast and low cost.
The 'Union of People's Services' (Service at Doorsteps) - starts the journey of Union Digital Center in front of the slogan. With the establishment of UDC, it is possible to create a free flow of information in every state of the society and the state system, where people are not going to door to door for service, but the service is reaching the people's doorstep. Free flow of information is one of the prerequisites for empowering the public. Establishment of 4,501 Union ParishadsUnion Digital Center in the country has facilitated access to information and services at the earliest time, including the participation of rural people in free flow of information.

So by 2020, every union council in the country will be able to play a groundbreaking role in building knowledge centers and making the center of all development activities in the area.
